Session Information

User licensing checks are already standard across Microsoft 365, Power Platform, and other Dynamics 365 apps.

Now Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations is aligning to the same model through technical per user license validation.

Starting January 15, 2026, customers with an upcoming renewal or anniversary on or after that date will be subject to validation based on their earliest contract milestone, with in product notifications starting 30 days before that milestone and access loss risk for users who remain unlicensed after the 15 day grace period.

In this session, we will cover what is in scope in this stage and we will walk through the updated reporting experience and the recommended customer preparation flow, including cleaning up inactive users, reviewing role to license mapping, assigning licenses in Microsoft 365 admin center, and planning for additional licensing through reservations when needed.
